1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, optional WhatsApp number, and profile details. FriendMap uses city-level location data shared only with the FriendMaps you explicitly choose.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and secure the FriendMap service, to display your city-level presence to approved friends, and to improve the product. We do not sell, trade, or monetize your personal information.
3. Location Data
FriendMap primarily uses city-level location data. Your precise GPS coordinates are converted to city-level and are never stored or shared as precise coordinates. Live precise location is not a default feature and requires explicit opt-in.
4. Data Deletion
You can request account deletion at any time within the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account). When processed, your profile is permanently deleted, your location data is purged, and you are removed from all active FriendMaps. You can also email privacy@friendmap.me to request deletion.
5. Third Parties
We use Firebase for authentication and data storage (Google LLC), Mapbox for map rendering, and Expo Application Services for app delivery. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share your personal information with advertisers.
